Who is Sarah Blizzard?

Sarah Blizzard, EdD (they/she pronouns) brings a wealth of expertise garnered over 15 years, which led to the creation of Blizzard Solutions, LLC. Their journey has provided many unique experiences, from teaching courses in Communication Studies with a focus on interpersonal and intercultural communication to crafting a dissertation titled "An Organizational Approach to the Inclusion of Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Faculty and Staff in Higher Education." Sarah's love of higher education extends beyond the classroom and toward individuals seeking their next personal or professional steps. Thinking of starting a new job? Applying to graduate school? Getting back into the dating scene? These are just some of the topics clients come to us with. When Sarah’s not coaching, they enjoy putting together and facilitating dynamic workshops for groups on topics ranging from microaggressions to inclusive workplace climates, to using instruments like Myers-Briggs and CliftonStrengths to help develop a team. Their academic background includes an EdD in Higher Education from the University of Denver, complemented by a Certificate in Technical Writing from Duke University, and a BA and MA in Communication Studies from UNC Greensboro. Sarah is also a Certified Professional Coach holding certifications in both MBTI Type I and II assessments, and Gallup’s CliftonStrengths.

From Sarah…

“I never ask clients to do something that I am not willing to do myself. Every exercise, every activity has a purpose; and, it is important to me that you know where I am coming from. I have taken these assessments, and I will share with you my results:

Gallup’s CliftonStrengths tells me that my top five talents are Ideation, Intellection, Connectedness, Input, and Learner. MBTI tells me that I am an Introvert, Intuition, Thinking, Perception (INTP).

While it might be easy to make assumptions about what these results mean, only I can decide what they mean for me. These assessments are simply tools to give me language to help others know what I can bring to any job or relationship I’m in. Helping others discover what they are naturally talented in, and helping them articulate their identities is such a joy. We are all so different, and when we begin seeing people for what they have to offer rather than what they struggle with, we can develop stronger and healthier relationships both personally and professionally.”
